The Clematis was D’s flower of choice for planting along the fence. I’m not sure whether I am pleased or not that “he” broke one of her favourites. Then again, the only plant that I’ve ever bought - a heebie - seemed to cause D a problem. She dug it up and moved it so many times that by the time it was on its second lap of the borders it got so dizzy and confused that it died. I got the unsaid message - “Rob, don’t buy things for the garden without asking me first.”
